Iranian German FMs Discuss US-Israeli Aggression Ceasefire in Phone Call
.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Johann Wadephul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, held a phone conversation on Friday.
The Iranian foreign minister, outlining the latest developments regarding the US and Zionist regime’s military aggression against Iran, emphasized the importance of a responsible stance by all countries in order to safeguard international law and the principles of the UN Charter.
Recalling the United States’ repeated breaches of its commitments and the crimes committed during two imposed wars over the past year, the Iranian foreign minister described the Islamic Republic of Iran’s decision to accept a ceasefire as a highly responsible move — one that lays the groundwork for a complete end to the war, compensation for damages inflicted on Iran, and accountability for the aggressors — and stressed that this decision must be appreciated by all parties.
The German foreign minister, while supporting the cessation of hostilities, underscored the need to stop Israel’s attacks on Lebanon and expressed hope that the forthcoming negotiations would restore peace and stability to the region.
