Iran China’s top diplomats hold talks on bilateral ties regional international developments

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various dimensions of bilateral relations and cooperation in different fields, including economic and trade ties, as well as the status of implementing existing agreements.

 

Iran’s Foreign Minister, highlighting the longstanding bonds between the two great civilizations of Iran and China, described China as a close friend and strategic partner of Iran. He emphasized the serious and resolute determination of the Iranian government to comprehensively upgrade strategic and friendly relations within the framework of the Iran-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, based on mutual respect and trust, stating: "We believe that the strategic cooperation and partnership between the two countries will continue stronger than ever in the new era."

 

Araghchi also detailed the atrocities committed by the United States and the Zionist regime against the Iranian people, as well as their gross violations of international humanitarian law during the 40-day imposed war, and commended China’s principled stance in condemning the U.S. and Israel’s violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, as well as China’s responsible approach toward the U.S.'s abuse of the UN Security Council.

 

He expressed hope that with China assuming the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council, and through continued effective role of Beijing, we will witness constructive developments aimed at preventing ongoing violations of law and breaches of international peace and security.

 

Iran’s top diplomat also briefed his Chinese counterpart on the latest diplomatic developments and ongoing efforts and initiatives to end the U.S.-Zionist regime’s imposed war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the Iran-U.S. negotiations mediated by Pakistan, stating: "Just as Iran has acted decisively in defending itself and remains fully prepared to counter any aggression, it is also serious and steadfast on the diplomatic front."

 

China’s Foreign Minister, commending the resilience and steadfastness of the Iranian people against aggressors, as well as Iran’s goodwill and responsible approach—particularly the efforts of his Iranian counterpart in pursuing diplomacy and preventing escalation in the region—reaffirmed China’s firm stance in support of Iran’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national security. He added: "China’s principled position is opposition to the use of force and the continuation of this illegal war, whose detrimental consequences have affected not only Iran but all nations and peoples of the region and the world."

 

Referring to the four-point initiative proposed by China’s President for an immediate and definitive end to the war and the establishment of lasting peace and security in the region, China’s Foreign Minister emphasized China’s strong support for diplomacy and dialogue in resolving issues.

 

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers reviewed the latest status of follow-up and implementation of cooperation plans and agreements in various economic and trade fields, exchanged views on opportunities and capacities for further expanding relations, and agreed to continue meetings and consultations among high-ranking officials of the two countries.
