Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed claims by certain media outlets regarding the closure of the Strait of Hormuz as baseless.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesman clarified that the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding on the Cessation of War dated June 18, 2026,, have taken the necessary measures to ensure the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, and shipping traffic in this waterway is currently underway.
