Iran offers rescue assistance as FM extends condolences to Venezuela over deadly earthquake

Following the devastating earthquake in Venezuela, which claimed the lives of many people and caused extensive damage, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation on Saturday evening with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil Pinto to convey the sincere condolences and sympathy of the Iranian government and people to the government and people of Venezuela, particularly the families of the victims.

Araghchi also announced the Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness to dispatch search-and-rescue teams and provide any assistance necessary to help ease the suffering of those affected and support ongoing relief operations.

The Venezuelan foreign minister expressed appreciation for Iran's condolences and support, particularly the messages conveyed by President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Araghchi. He briefed his Iranian counterpart on the measures taken to assist and rescue those affected by the disaster and thanked Iran for its humanitarian stance.
He also reaffirmed Venezuela's determination to continue and strengthen its friendly relations with Iran.
