Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has stressed the importance of unity and solidarity across the Muslim world, as well as the continuation of domestic cohesion, during the “Narrative of Mercy” event held to mark the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The event was held on Saturday evening (August 29, 2026), at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall, featuring a performance of the “Soul of the Worlds” suite symphony.

It was attended by Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Seyed Abbas Salehi, Foreign Minister Araghchi, a number of cultural, artistic and cinema figures, and some foreign ambassadors accredited to Iran.

Congratulating Muslims on the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the foreign minister said the most important mission of the Prophet was to promote moral virtues, brotherhood, and friendship among Muslims.

Referring to the constant emphasis by Imam Khomeini and the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution on unity in the Muslim world, Araghchi said, “The message of Imam Khomeini, the lessons taught by our martyred Leader, and the ideal of unity in the Muslim world are at the forefront of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign policy, and we will pursue this unity under all circumstances.”

Referring to the high standing of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the history of Islam and Iran, Araghchi added, “I have made this statement on various occasions and I repeat it once again: After 70 years of striving in the path of God, he truly deserved the exalted rank of martyrdom. However, this in no way means that we will forget this great crime, we will always remain committed to avenging the blood of our martyred leader.”

Referring to his visit to an exhibition of paintings by prominent Iranian artists on the subject of the Minab School, the foreign minister said, “Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit this exhibition. These works clearly show how the Iranian people stood their ground, how they emerged victorious, and how they thwarted the enemy’s malicious objectives.”

Araghchi also referred to the Iranian people’s resistance during the 40-day war, saying, “The Iranian people accomplished a great feat during these 40 days. They stood for 40 days against what appeared to be the world’s largest army, while other armies and countries had also come to support, back and assist it. This steadfastness was an important lesson for the entire world.”
“The Iranian people demonstrated their power, resilience and tenacity in this war and showed that if we all stand united, we can withstand all pressures,” he added.

The foreign minister stressed, “The 40-day war was a proud period of national unity and cohesion, and we must safeguard this valuable achievement.”
