Iran condemns US illegal attacks on Iranian vessels

These illegal and aggressive acts, carried out as a continuation of the US military aggression against Iran and as part of that regime’s maritime blockade and economic war against our homeland, constitute a clear violation of Paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the United Nations Charter, a war crime, and an overt threat to international peace and the security of commercial shipping.

Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s determination to firmly defend its sovereignty and national interests against state terrorism and US acts of aggression—including the continuation of the maritime blockade and economic war and attacks on commercial vessels—the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that responsibility for the consequences arising from the continuation of US aggressive and interventionist actions in the region will rest with the US regime and its accomplices and partners.
