Iran Japan FMs hold phone talks on regional developments
Iran will continue with full force to comprehensively defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against the imposed war by the US and the Zionist regime.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Japan held a phone conversation on Monday to exchange views on regional developments and the consequences of continued US and Zionist regime military aggression against Iran.
Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the rhetoric of US officials threatening to attack Iran's energy infrastructure, referring to the ongoing US and Zionist military aggression against Iran. He warned against the normalization of war crimes and its repercussions for the region and the entire international community.
Araghchi emphasized that threatening to attack Iran's production and energy infrastructure is a clear example of a war crime and genocide. He stated: "Such threats, alongside the crimes committed by American and Israeli aggressors in attacking schools, hospitals, universities, and residential areas, double the international community's responsibility to prosecute and punish the perpetrators and commanders of these crimes in domestic and international courts."
Araghchi stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue, with full force, to comprehensively defend its national sovereignty and territorial integrity against the imposed war by the US and the Zionist regime. He expressed expectation that all countries will fulfill their responsibilities regarding international peace and security and condemn the aggressors.
Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, referring to the necessity of resorting to diplomacy, announced his country's support for ongoing regional and international efforts to halt the war.
The foreign ministers of Iran and Japan also exchanged views on consular matters. Japan's Foreign Minister appreciated Iran's cooperation in assisting Japanese nationals residing in Iran.
