Remarks by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi after visiting the exhibition of mementos, belongings, and personal effectsof the martyrs of the IRIS Dena destroyer

🔹 I would like to sincerely thank the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its respected commander, Rear Admiral Irani, for organizing this exhibition, which is truly moving. I also pay tribute to the pure souls of the martyrs of the Dena destroyer.

🔹 From the very moment this incident occurred, we at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were informed, and we carried out all of our responsibilities, including following up on the transfer of the martyrs' bodies, the evacuation of the wounded, and all other necessary measures. In my view, however, what happened was undoubtedly a war crime that will be recorded in history.
🔹 The Dena destroyer, which was hundreds of kilometers away from the battlefield, was on a training and ceremonial mission and had traveled to another country to participate in a naval event. It was attacked without undertaking any military action, without weapons, and without any prior warning. This can in no way be regarded as a naval victory; rather, it merely demonstrates the enemy's desperation.
🔹 That individuals who were far from the battlefield, had no involvement in any hostilities, and were on an entirely routine mission, while completely defenseless and unaware of the enemy's intentions, were targeted and martyred is unquestionably a war crime.
🔹 The Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Navy, will collect documentation of this crime, and we will pursue all necessary legal measures. The required arrangements have been made, preliminary studies have begun, and, God willing, we will never let the pure blood of these martyrs go unanswered. We will neither forget nor forgive. We will fulfill every responsibility entrusted to us at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
🔹 I also believe that the blood of these martyrs, alongside that of the other martyrs of this criminal act of aggression and all the innocent victims who lost their lives in these attacks, including the children of Minab, paved the way for the victory of the Iranian nation in this battle.
🔹 I never believe that the blood of these dear ones was shed in vain. Rather, their blood nourished the mighty tree of the Islamic Republic of Iran and contributed to our ultimate victory over enemies who entered the confrontation with all their power, equipment, and resources, yet failed to achieve any of their objectives. This action was by no means a sign of greatness or strength. Attacking an unarmed target far from the battlefield is not an act of courage; it is a sign of cowardice.
🔹 Once again, I pay tribute to the pure souls of these martyrs and pray to Almighty God to grant patience and abundant reward to their honorable families. Everyone witnessed the dignity, steadfastness, and pride with which these families attended the funeral ceremonies. God willing, may Almighty God always be with them, support them, and grant them ever greater success.
