Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian held talks with his Tunisian counterpart Nabil Ammar on the latest developments in Palestine and exchanged views on the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.
The Iranian foreign minister underlined that the resistance in the occupied territories is a legitimate defense in order to do away with the occupation of Palestine and reiterated, “According to our estimates, the resistance is fully prepared to respond to the Zionists’ warmongering.”
Amirabdollahian went on to say, “We will continue our efforts to lift the siege on the people of Gaza and provide humanitarian aid, including sending medical and food supplies to the enclave through Egypt.”
The Iranian foreign minister expressed hope that the statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting in Jeddah would firmly support the Palestinian people and stop the atrocities in the Gaza strip.
Meanwhile, the Tunisian foreign minister stressed the proximity between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Tunisian positions and said the slaughter of civilians in Palestine should stop as soon as possible.
Nabil Ammar concluded his remarks by saying that the beastly actions by the Zionist regime are not compatible with any humanitarian, legal and historical criteria, and the organized killing cannot be justified, and added, “What is happening in Gaza today undermines the credibility of the countries that support the Zionist regime’s positions.”
