In the meeting, Araghchi emphasized the importance of increasing convergence and economic and trade relations between Turkey and Iran as two major countries in the region and two effective powers of the Muslim world.
He then announced Iran’s readiness to activate the High Council of Cooperation between Iran and Turkish and described this as an important development in the process of strengthening bilateral ties.

Araghchi further noted that the fields of trade, economy, industry, agriculture, tourism, energy, and scientific as well as academic cooperation are among the areas where there is a possibility of further development of cooperation between Tehran and Ankara.
He emphasized the need to pay more attention to the use of the capacity of border areas and provinces of Iran and Turkey to increase economic relations between the two nations.

Referring to the continuation of crimes and warmongering by the Zionist regime, Araghchi stressed the joint responsibility of Muslim countries and all regional nations to stop the genocide and aggression in Gaza and Lebanon and the expansion of the occupation regime's military and security assaults on other countries in the region.

He also described the humanitarian conditions in Gaza and Lebanon as catastrophic and called for the mobilization of regional and international capacities to get humanitarian aid to the oppressed and displaced people.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan for his part underscored Ankara’s determination to strengthen relations between the two neighbors in various economic, political, cultural and security fields including cooperation in border security and combating terrorism.

The regular holding of the joint economic commission of Iran and Turkey, the continuation of political and diplomatic consultations, the celebration of 2025 as the cultural year of Iran-Turkey, and the holding of the meeting of the high Cooperation Council between the two countries were other issues discussed by the two foreign ministers.

Fidan also expressed regret and great concern over the continuation of the Israeli regime's war and genocide in Gaza and Lebanon. He reaffirmed Turkey's firm opposition to the occupying regime's adventurism and underlined the necessity of an all-out effort to deal with the threat to regional peace and stability posed by the Zionist regime.
