Statement by Iranian FM Seyyed Abbas Araghchi on presence of foreign forces in Persian Gulf region

.

The US is marked in yellow in the Western Hemisphere.
Several oceans away, on the other side of the globe. Iran's borders are also marked in yellow.
The small red circle indicates the Strait of Hormuz.
The US military, operating off our coasts, now seeks to dictate how our powerful armed forces should conduct military exercises within our own territory.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) has called on a national military force – which the US government labels a "terrorist organization" – to act "professionally," while simultaneously acknowledging the same "terrorist organization's" right to conduct military drills!
This level of contradiction is the reality the world faces today, and interestingly, European governments have actively chosen to follow the same path.
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) has always been and remains the guardian of peace and stability in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. In our region, the IRGC is rightly recognized as a powerful force that has proven its capabilities on the battlefield, both against terrorist groups and invading armies.
Freedom of navigation and the safe passage of commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz are as vital to Iran as they are to our neighbors. The presence of extra-regional forces in our region has consistently produced results contrary to their claims: escalating tensions rather than reducing them.
