Iranian Austrian Foreign Ministers discuss regional international developments

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger held talks on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger held talks on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The two sides discussed and exchanged views on the most important international and regional developments, as well as bilateral issues of mutual interest.

The Iranian foreign minister, explaining the ongoing developments in the region, said the insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz and disruption to shipping are a direct result of the aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime. He stressed that restoring the security of shipping in the region requires an end to the destabilizing actions and economic terrorism of the United States.

The foreign minister also pointed to the continuation of the genocide against Palestinians and the Israeli regime’s flagrant violations of international law, as well as the regime’s continued aggression against Lebanon and other countries in the region. He stressed the responsibility of all countries, particularly European countries, to halt any support for the occupying regime and end its impunity.
