Iran new envoy to Brazil meets FM ahead of departing for place of mission

On the eve of his departure for the place of his mission abroad Abdollah Nekoonam new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Federal Republic of Brazil met with Iranian Foreign Minister .

On the eve of his departure for the place of his mission abroad, Abdollah Nekoonam, new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Federal Republic of Brazil, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and presented him a report on the latest status in Brazil and his upcoming plans for the expansion of bilateral ties between Tehran and Brasilia.

 In the meeting, Amirabdollahian said relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Brazil in various political and economic areas as well as their international cooperation, especially in BRICS, are important.  He also stressed the need to further expand and consolidate bilateral ties in various fields of cooperation.

 Nekoonam previously served as deputy spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, head of the Information and Spokesperson Affairs Department General, deputy head of the Department General of Information and Press, head and deputy of the Political Bulletin Office and economic groups inside Iran. He also held such posts as consul general of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Munich (southern states of Germany) as well as the Islamic Republic's consul general in Hong Kong and Macau.
