Esmail Baqaei, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, strongly condemned today’s aerial assault by the Zionist regime on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, which targeted critical infrastructure, including the city’s power plant.
He extended congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of several Yemeni civilians during this act of aggression and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson described the repeated attacks by the Zionist regime against Yemen’s economic and civilian infrastructure—including airports, ports, power generation facilities, and food storage centers—as war crimes and crimes against humanity. He characterized these assaults as a clear manifestation of the regime’s hostility toward development and reconstruction in the region.
Commending the solidarity and support of the Yemeni people for the oppressed people of Palestine, the Spokesperson reaffirmed the responsibility of all Islamic nations to act urgently to halt the ongoing genocide and to aid the people of Gaza, who are facing a famine deliberately imposed by the Zionist regime.
He emphasized that taking action to confront the ongoing genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank is a legal and moral obligation incumbent upon all governments, particularly Islamic countries. He further expressed the expectation that the extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah would give this matter the urgent and serious attention it deserves.
