Iranian Turkish Foreign Ministers discuss regional tensions US‑Israeli aggression in phone call

..

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Hakan Fidan, Foreign Minister of Turkey, held a telephone conversation to discuss and exchange views on the latest developments in the region and the consequences of the continued USIsraeli military aggression against Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, while expressing appreciation for Turkey’s efforts and those of some regional countries to end the ongoing imposed war, described the aggressions and atrocities committed by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran as the main cause of the current situation and insecurity in the region. He emphasized: “The main problem lies in the contradictory behavior and unreasonable demands of the American side. The inconsistent actions and statements of the US side are highly questionable and have deepened suspicions regarding their deception.”

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, referring to his country’s approach to ending the USIsraeli imposed war against the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressing readiness to play a constructive role in resolving the current crisis, stated: “Iran’s distrust toward the other side is understandable, as Iran has twice been subjected to military attack in the midst of negotiations.”

The foreign ministers of Iran and Turkey agreed to continue bilateral consultations and maintain coordination with other countries in the region.
