Phone Conversation Between Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Japan

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Toshimitsu Motegi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a phone conversation on Wednesday to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations.
During the call, the security and economic repercussions of the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran, including disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, were examined and discussed.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, pointing to the fact that the insecurity created in the Strait of Hormuz is a direct consequence of the imposed war by the US and the Zionist regime against Iran, emphasized the need for all governments to adopt a responsible approach to prevent the current situation from becoming more complicated.
Japan’s Foreign Minister, expressing concern over the current situation, announced his country’s readiness to help reduce tensions.
