Iranian Russian Foreign Ministers hold phone call on regional developments

During the call, the Iranian foreign minister briefed his Russian counterpart on regional developments and the continued, repeated US violations of the ceasefire.

 

Referring to ongoing illegal and provocative US actions against Iranian ports and vessels—including the aggression against the container ship Touska and the hostage-taking of its crew—the Iranian foreign minister stated: "The US's unlawful conduct and the contradictory positions of its leaders are incompatible with their claims of diplomacy. The Islamic Republic of Iran, while monitoring the actions of the opposing side, will make an appropriate decision to safeguard its national interests and security."

 

The two foreign ministers also discussed bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia to help restore peace and stability in the region. The Iranian foreign minister appreciated Russia's stated readiness to continue consultations aimed at enhancing regional stability and advancing joint diplomatic initiatives.
