Iran Condemns Bahraini Officials’ Baseless Accusations

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei condemned the Bahraini government’s revocation of citizenship from a number of Bahraini nationals under baseless pretexts.

Strongly criticizing the Bahraini officials’ approach of imposing anti-human punishments, including mass revocation of citizenship, against the native people of Bahrain, the spokesperson noted: The Bahraini government’s action in stripping Bahraini citizens of their nationality under the pretext of sympathizing with the Islamic Republic of Iran or expressing hatred toward US and Israeli crimes against the Iranian nation constitutes a gross violation of human rights and reflects the discriminatory approach of the country’s rulers toward their own people.

 

Baghaei emphasized that the Bahraini regime cannot, through such propaganda campaigns, divert public opinion in the country and the region from its direct responsibility in supporting and aligning with US-Israeli aggressors against the Iranian nation.
