Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Zhong Peiwu met with Irans Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi

On the eve of the Iranian president’s important visit to China Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Zhong Peiwu met on Monday with Irans Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for talks over the latest developments in bilateral relations within the framework of the two countries’ cooperation agreement and also over key regional and international cooperation issues between Tehran and Beijing.

 

On the eve of the Iranian president’s important visit to China, Chinese Ambassador to Tehran Zhong Peiwu met on Monday with Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for talks over the latest developments in bilateral relations within the framework of the two countries’ cooperation agreement and also  over key regional and international cooperation issues between Tehran and Beijing.

 

Araghchi referred to the very positive trend of relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and China across various areas of mutual interest and stressed the importance of the strong will of the leaders and senior officials of both countries to expand ties and to seriously implement the Iran-China 25-year cooperation agreement.

He reaffirmed Iran’s determination to use all available possibilities to boost relations and cooperation with China.

 

Araghchi described China’s constructive positions on regional and international developments as valuable and stressed the necessity of continuing and strengthening consultations in order to confront unilateral and coercive approaches in the international arena.

 

The foreign minister said he is confident that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to China will mark a turning point in efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations.

 

The Chinese ambassador for his part said he was pleased with the close and strong relations between Tehran and Beijing. He described President Pezeshkian’s upcoming visit to China as important for the purpose of advancing the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation treaty and viewed this cooperation as conducive to the strengthening of peace, stability, and development in the region and the wider world.

 

During the meeting, the latest developments regarding Iran’s nuclear issue were also discussed, and the importance of China’s continued constructive role in this regard was underscored.
