Phone Conversation Between Foreign Ministers of Iran and France

.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, held a phone conversation on Sunday night.

Iran's Foreign Minister informed his French counterpart about the intensive Iran-US negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, and stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, while having absolute distrust of the American side, entered the negotiations with a responsible approach and good faith. However, despite progress in the negotiation process on many issues, the excessive demands and constant changes in demands on the other side prevented the achievement of an agreement."

The French Foreign Minister, emphasizing his country's position in support of a diplomatic approach to end the war, expressed hope that with the continuation of talks, we will witness the achievement of a final agreement.

The foreign ministers of Iran and France emphasized the continuation of bilateral consultations and discussions as well as with other regional parties.
