Iran’s Foreign Minister meets with head of Iraq’s al-Fatah Alliance in Baghdad
Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian held a meeting on Thursday with Hadi al-Ameri, the head of Iraq’s al-Fatah Alliance and a leader of the country’s Shia Coordination Framework.

During the session, Amirabdollahian expressed satisfaction with the formation of an all-inclusive government in Iraq, congratulating Ameri and other members of the Shia Coordination Framework on the success.
The top Iranian diplomat emphasized Iraq’s significant position in regional developments and discussed the latest situation of bilateral ties and regional developments.
He highlighted security concerns over the presence of counter-revolutionary and separatist movements in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, saying the enhancement of bilateral security cooperation to dispel such threats is a priority for Tehran.
For his part, Ameri paid tribute to Martyr General Qassem Soleimani and Martyr Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, recalling General Soleimani’s unparalleled role in establishing stability and security in the region.
He stressed the necessity to bolster security cooperation between the two countries.
Referring to the principles of the Iraqi Constitution, which prohibits the use of Iraqi territory for any threat to its neighbors, Ameri said the presence of movements opposed to Iran in the Kurdistan region is against the interests of the region and entire Iraq.
The meeting was also joined by First Deputy Speaker of Iraq’s Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi, the Minister of Labor Abu Jaafar al-Asadi, and some other lawmakers.
