Telephone Talks held between Irans Foreign Minister Lebanese Parliament Speaker

Seyed Abbas Araghchi Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Nabih Berri Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament held a telephone conversation regarding developments in Lebanon and the region the progress of the Islamabad negotiations as well as issues of mutual interest.

The two sides strongly condemned the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime against regional countries, including Lebanon, and emphasized the necessity of international community mobilization to put an end to these brutal acts in southern Lebanon—which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of thousands, the destruction of residential areas and Lebanese infrastructure, and the displacement of the region’s inhabitants. They also agreed to continue consultations and coordination.

 

During this conversation, the Foreign Minister, while elaborating on the latest status of the diplomatic process mediated by Pakistan, praised the exemplary resistance of the Lebanese people against the Zionist regime’s brutal attacks and underscored the Islamic Republic of Iran’s firm support for the people of Lebanon. He also stated: "The cessation of the Zionist regime’s aggressions against Lebanon is part of the Iran-U.S. ceasefire understanding, and this matter will remain a priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran in any future process."

 

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, referring to the Zionist regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and the epic resistance of the Lebanese people against the Zionist regime’s military aggression, stressed the need to increase international pressure and take necessary measures to hold the regime accountable for its actions.

 

Nabih Berri also expressed gratitude for the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran in support of Lebanon’s legitimate positions.
