D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Secretary-General meets with Iranian Foreign Minister

During the meeting, the D-8 Secretary-General extended his condolences over the martyrdom of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and a number of Iranian officials and civilians during the U.S.-Israeli imposed war. He also expressed his sympathy and solidarity with the Government and people of Iran.
Suhail Mahmood presented a report on the D-8 Secretariat's programs and the organization's upcoming meetings, and called for the continued active participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the organization's future events and meetings.
The Iranian foreign minister expressed appreciation for the D-8 Secretary-General's attendance at the ceremony honoring the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as well as for the valuable positions taken by the organization's Muslim member states in condemning the military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime and expressing their support and solidarity with Iran.
Araghchi underscored the important and effective role of regional organizations in confronting the United States' aggressive unilateralism, and reaffirmed Iran's commitment to continued cooperation and active participation in the organization's future meetings.
