President meets with President and heads of caucuses of National Assembly of Venezuela
The President stated, "Tehran and Caracas should turn sanctions and pressure into opportunities for progress; This movement has started in Iran and in the last two years good steps have been taken in this direction and these experiences can be used in Venezuela as well".
Speaking before noon on Tuesday local time, in continuation of his official travel plans to Venezuela, in a meeting with the head and a number of heads of the caucuses of the National Assembly of Venezuela, Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi stated that the nation and the government of Venezuela have made history in their resistance against the system of domination.
The President stated that in the consultations held during this trip, we focused on the necessity of expanding relations and examining solutions for it, and added, "There are very good potentials and capabilities in the two countries, the actualisation of which can improve the relations between the two countries to a certain level despite the cruel sanctions".

Ayatollah Raisi described Iran as a friend in Venezuela's difficult days and stated, "The Islamic Republic of Iran has made significant progress in the fields of energy, industry and technology, and we are ready to exchange these experiences and capabilities with Venezuela".
Referring to the regular holding of elections in Iran and Venezuela and the establishment of democratic systems in these two countries, the President criticised the double standards of the domination seekers towards the countries under the pretext of democracy and noted, "The parliaments of Iran and Venezuela are a manifestation of the political will of the people of the two countries and they can play an effective role in expanding cooperation in different fields".
The President listed the desire for freedom as one of the common characteristics of the people of Iran and Venezuela and emphasising that the relations between the two countries are not temporary but deep and strategic, and said, "The official admission of the American authorities to the failure of the policy of maximum pressure against Iran and the failure of the American government to dominate Venezuela and the acquisition of the country's oil resources shows how important and effective the cooperation between the two countries is against imperialism".
Mr Jorge Rodríguez, Speaker of the National Assembly of Venezuela, also described the Islamic Republic of Iran as one of the most important developing countries in the world free from imperialism and stated, "The Venezuelan Parliament supports the plans of the President of this country to expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran".
Referring to Iran's remarkable progress in various industrial, technological and scientific fields, despite sanctions and extensive pressure, he said, "Venezuela should make Iran its practical model in the way of confronting imperialism".
Jorge Rodríguez also pointed to the former US President's admission of this country's plan to dominate Venezuela and loot its oil resources and stated, "Imperialist countries always seek to question real democratic systems such as Iran and Venezuela and impose dictatorship on these countries, but the solidarity of the nation and the government in our countries as well as our interactions and cooperation with each other have foiled these conspiracies".
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Venezuela and the President of our country also honoured the national heroes of the fight against arrogance and terrorism in the two countries, including Simón Bolivar and General Haj Qasem Soleimani
